Yes. When the Americans suspected that there was a double agent in the British secret service they actually shared their suspicions with Philby.
Philby sent a message back to London via another member of the spy ring Guy Burgess, who broke his cover and defected to Russoa along with McClean.
It was obvious that they had been tipped off and Philby was a prime suspect, he was investigated and he resigned from the secret service but managed to convince them he had done nothing wrong.
