Yes. It exists right now. The Palestinian Authority is the Palestinian State and the Modern State of Israel exists right next to it. Admittedly, they are not at peace, but you have both states.

Was Israel leased out by Palestine?

No. No country is leased by or to another country. Additionally, Palestine had no ability to lease out territory given that it was not a country at the time of Israel's independence. Israel received independence as a result of the UN Partition Plan of Mandatory Palestine.

When was the State of Israel formed out of Palestine?

Israel was declared an independent Jewish State on May 14, 1948. However, the phrasing of the question makes implicit assumptions that must be dealt with. It would seem from the way that the question is written that Palestine was a country and then one day, and was renamed Israel the next day. This is not the case. Palestine was a territorial name in the same way that the Riviera in southwestern Europe is a territorial name. It just happens that some of the Riviera is in France and some in Italy. Israel was a state that declared independence in that territory, which was a British Mandate at the time. There were still areas of Palestine that did not become part of Israel. Most of the Arab Palestinians did not consider Israel to be their state and would later identify with the Palestinian State declared in absentia in 1988 and recognized in the Oslo Accords of 1993.

Did the Holocaust get to Israel?

No. What is now Israel did not exist as an independent country at the time but was part of British Mandate of Palestine and therefore under British rule then. In the course of the fighting in N. Africa in World War 2 the Germans did not reach Cairo and did not cross the Suez Canal. So, there was no Holocaust in Palestine/Israel.

Are Palestine and Israel the same?

Answer 1:No. Palestine and Israel are two separate countries. The problem in naming comes from the fact that Palestine was also the name of the British Mandate in the territory that both of them wish to occupy and directly proceeded them. However, Israel is State with a Jewish Character and Palestine is a State with an Arab Moslem Character.Answer 2:No. Palestine is the name given to the Holy Land which is the birth place of both Judaism and Christianity. Israel is a country that is placed in the region known as Palestine, for the sole purpose of it being a place where religious practitioners (especially those of Jewish denomination) can flock to for peace.Answer 3:Yes, Palestine and Israel are the same place but Palestine was it's own country until Israel invaded it's land and territory.Answer 4:No. Israel has never been in or a part of Palestine.Israel did not exist as a state or as a legal entity before May 14th 1948.Israel was declared as an Independent Sovereign State May 14th 1948.An Independent Sovereign State cannot be a part of any other entity. The Israeli Government informed the International Community of its Declaration on May 15, 1948 Letter From the Agent of the Provisional Government of Israel to the President of the United States, "MY DEAR MR. PRESIDENT: I have the honor to notify you that the state of Israel has been proclaimed as an independent republic within frontiers approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations in its Resolution of November 29, 1947, and that a provisional government has been charged to assume the rights and duties of government for preserving law and order within the boundaries of Israel, for defending the state against external aggression, and for discharging the obligations of Israel to the other nations of the world in accordance with international law. The Act of Independence will become effective atone minute after six o'clock on the evening of 14 May 1948, Washington time."The Israeli Government further clarified the extent of its sovereignty in statements to the UNSC on May 22nd 1948.Israel has never legally annexed any territories to the extent of it's Declared Sovereignty. Currently, Israel illegally claims approximately 50% of the Palestinians' rightful territories. To put it simply, if it isn't the "acknowledged" Sovereign Territory of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt or Israel, by default it's a territory of Palestine.Commentary on Answer 4:There is no international legal organization or any current government that claims that Israel should revert to the borders of the U.N. Resolution 181 Partition Plan. If Israel is recognized as a legal entity by any body, it includes all territory acquired as a result of the Armistices of 1949. By that definition, Israel occupies only 22% of Palestinian territories. (Of course, the other definition is that Israel does not merit existence and is therefore occupying 100% of Palestinian territory.)Answer 5:Yes, they refer to the same land, although its better to refer to it as Palestine because that's what it was called until the Jews occupied it and named it Israel.Answer 6:Yes and No. Palestine has two different definitions and Israel has two definitions.Palestine 1: All of the lands of the former British Mandate of Palestine.Palestine 2: All of the lands not under Israeli control in 1950 that serve as the basis for any current two-state proposal for the State of Palestine.Israel 1: All of the lands under Israeli control in 1950.Israel 2: All of the lands under Israeli control, both military and civil as of 2012.Now for the spatial relationships.Israel 1 is entirely within the borders of Palestine 1, but smaller (78%)Israel 1 (78%) + Palestine 2 (22%) = Palestine 1Israel 2 and Palestine 2 overlap in much of the West Bank Territories. Israel 2 and Israel 1 overlap in all of Israel 1's territories. Israel 2 does not control the Gaza Strip territories which are part of Palestine 1 and Palestine 2. Israel 2 also controls some Syrian territory not in either Palestine.

In the twentieth Century what did Muslims call the region known as Israel?

For most of the Twentieth Century (since 1948), the Jewish areas were called Israel and The Muslim areas were called "the Occupied Territories" or the "Palestinian Territories. The original plan was for the Palestinian territories to be called "Palestine" and be set up as in independent country, but the Palestinians rejected this plan. Prior to 1948, the entire area was called Palestine, though it was never under Palestinian rule. In 1948, the Palestinians almost had the chance for self-determination for the first time ever.

Will palestine ever be free?

Well, chances are NO. Its because not even the United States cannot stop Israel from making illegal settlements in the west bank. However, it is expected that Muslims will make a majority in Israel (due to their large birth rates) by no later than 2048, so if that happens Arabs will be the majority in Israel and then turning Israel from a Jewish to an Arab state then possibly they would propose a confederation to make Palestine... who knows... The statistics quoted in the above answer do not account for religious Jews who are increasing at much the same rate as the Arabs. It is not likely that Arabs will be the majority in 1949 Israel for a much longer period of time.

Did Israel have Gaza first?

The map (see link below) shows a country called Palestine. Some Jews invaded in 1948 and changed the name to Israel. They took more and more land until there was just a small area called Gaza for the surviving Palestinians to live in. Israel didn't have Gaza first, Palestine had Palestine first.
