The first Mormon temple was actually built in Kirtland, Ohio. It still stands today and is owned by the Community of Christ as a historical site. The Kirtland Temple is different from all other Mormon temples built, as it was not meant for the temple ordinances like baptism and marriage that all other Mormon temples were built for.

The second Mormon temple was built in Nauvoo, Illinois. It was the first temple built with the intention of being used for temple ordinances, such as baptism and marriage. It was built in the early 1840's and although it was never completely finished, it was used briefly before the Mormons were forced to leave Illinois in 1846. It was destroyed by fire and strong winds in 1848. The Nauvoo Temple was rebuilt in 2002 closely following the original plans and is now a fully functioning Mormon temple.

What is the Mormon community history from 1839-1846?

Between 1839 and 1846, most of the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) lived in or near Nauvoo, Illinois. They intended to establish Nauvoo as a religious community, but were asked to leave by the local government in 1845, after their prophet, Joseph Smith, was murdered. This is because the government could not stop non-Mormon locals from raiding Nauvoo and neighboring Mormon settlements. It is an important place in Mormon history because it is the first place where they were able to build the first 'full service' Mormon temple. A previous one in Kirtland, Ohio was used for meetings but Nauvoo had the first temple dedicated to performing ordinances such as baptism and marriage. At it's peak, Nauvoo was the second largest city in Illinois (behind Chicago) and with it's strategic location on the Mississippi River, was a popular stopping point for tourists and merchants. Entire books have been written about this period, so it would be impossible to describe the history of the community here. You can check out the "Related Links" below to learn more about Nauvoo and it's history.

Who was the First Temple constructed by?

AnswerJewish biblical tradition says that the First Temple was constructed in Jerusalem by King Solomon. However, many biblical scholars doubt the historicity of Solomon, pointing out that there is no extra-biblical evidence for his existence. Archaeologists say that Jerusalem was at best a small, unwalled village of mud-brick houses at the time attributed to Solomon, and could not have financed or resourced the construction of a magnificent temple. It must have been constructed during the reign of a later king, after which its construction was eventually added to the legend of Solomon.

When was the first Mormon church built in Ireland?

No Mormonism and its church was founded in America it's roots are in no other country but America their first temple is in Kirtland, Ohio. In America unlike Christianity and many other religions are founded in Israel, India ect. ===================== I believe the question is more in regards to when the Mormon church was established in Ireland and/or when it's first buildings were constructed. While I don't know when the first church buildings were established, the first Mormon missionaries arrived in Ireland in the summer of 1840. Within several months, a small congregation had formed. Many of these would leave Ireland and emigrate to the United States to join the other members of the faith. Today, there are congregations in several of the major Irish cities with chapels for members to worship in.

Who constructed the temple of Jerusalem?

Two Jewish temples have been constructed in Jerusalem, historically. Both stood at the same location. It's the raised ground immediately to the east of the "Wailing Wall" in modern Jerusalem. That wall is a section of the perimeter boundary of the area on which both Temples stood, and is the only remaining relic of the physical structure of either Temple.
