Well, they both located in Egypt of course , and they both have the river Nile running through them, upper Egypt is located south of Egypt witch makes it more close to the equator and have higher temperature degrees any time of the year, lower Egypt located at the coast of The Mediterranean Sea witch makes lower Egypt have lower temperature degrees compared with upper Egypt.
In principle, there was no difference. The same images and the same hieroglyphs were used all over Egypt. There only was a difference between the hieroglyphs that the priests used and the hieroglyphs that other people in Egypt used: the latter was a much simplified system.
The king of lower Egypt wore a red crown and the king of upper Egypt wore a red one and king menes joined them together and mixed both crowns and wore a red and white crown!
Upper and Lower Egypt were ruled by two different rulers until King Menes integrated the two.
Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt
