XBIDS is a total scam - Beware

  • While making what seems to be a new user ID verification, the site immediately charges your card 75 dollars
  • There is NO AUTHORIZATION
  • The 75 dollars credits you with 135 bids.
  • Each bid (each one click of your mouse) charges you 60 cents.
  • Auctions timers are deceptive - 15 seconds of bidding at one or two penny intervals can last over an hour
  • The timer is reset at each bid under 15 seconds
  • They are pocketing up to thousands of dollars for one 100 dollar gift card
  • If a 100 dollar item gets a total of 30 dollars, the owners of XBIDS get 1800 dollars
  • Their customer service line is a computer generated nothing
  • Their links are fraudulent posing as fake news channels
  • When you lose an auction (which you will) you can buy the item for their value deal (which is retail, so a 25 dollar item will cost you the full 25 dollars)
  • You can apply what you bid, (say 10 dollars) toward the purchase of another one of the items.

Wake up America, call your credit card company or bank and change your card info! You have now given it to scammers.

The original answer from here is below:

No at all. I won a 30" HDTV for about $78 shipped. Just purchased bids and started bidding towards the end of the auction.

It may be legitimate but you walk away feeling scammed. Beware! Don't buy into it!
Xbids is a big scam. They advertise false and misleading information on their site. When you go to the xbids site you see in big flashing capital letters the time in hours and minutes and exact seconds when the bidding for that item will end. However during the last 15 seconds they start to manipulate and extend the clock by 15 seconds again and again until almost every body runs out of their $75 and message shows up to buy more bids if you want to keep on bidding.. They say this is to give the last bidders time to bid. , and is like " going once, going twice, gone" on other open auction sites .

My question is then do not publish the exact time upto a second when bidding will stop. Bidding on the items on xbids start almost 20 hours before and this should be more than enough time for the last bidders to bid. The last 10 seconds should be equivalent to " going once, going twice, gone" Like on EBAY or BIDZ.com. Which are legitimate auction sites and are on Nasdaq stock exchange.

If you go to an open auction site they do not advertise the time when the bidding for an item will stop. The bidding starts at a reasonable price for the item ( not like at one cent on xbids even for an item retail price over thousand dollars) and when the auctioneer thinks reasonable price has been achieved he starts saying "going once ,going twice, gone"

You can not compare apples and Oranges.

Xbids has only virtual address for their business and there are no employees at that site.

Xbids supplies fake telephone number to contact them which shows up on your monthly credit card statement. This is to mislead the customer and CC company.

No body knows who the owner of this company is because xbids is registered by proxy to hide the identity of the crooked owner of this company.

I can not believe how they are getting away with this scam. Why there is no class action law suit against them.

When I lost $75 on this scam site I reported and disputed this charge with my credit card company and they told me thay are getting numerous complaints about xbids. They took $ 75 out of xbids account and creditted back my account, This was 7 weeks ago. xbids has not tried to rebill me again.
