It often leaves countries dependant on the foreign countries. protectorates ar not always a bad thing, but yes, if we leave dependant countries they would not be able to support themselves. It also poses opportunities for corruption.
Prior to the Civil War, many northerners were opposed to acquiring more territory in the west because they feared the spread of slavery. After the Spanish-American War, some of the old "Radical Republicans" and other members of Congress opposed the idea of acquiring colonies. A large portion of the Democratic Party, led by William Jennings Bryan, opposed annexation of colonies. Anti-imperialists reminded the nation of our anti colonial heritage. They quoted Lincoln in reminding the nation that no man is good enough to govern another man without that man's consent. Many anti-imperialists were racists or appealed to those with racist ideas. They questioned whether is was wise to bring "nonwhite" people "under our flag." Many simply opposed Imperialism because it would be too costly and would force the US to send American troops into "harm's way" to put down any resistance to our taking over other lands.
Some negative consequences of imperialism include limited power for the people and a central ruler with nearly total control. These countries are often well organized by have fewer freedoms than most.
In the past, when imperialism flourished, any nations policy of imperialism could affect that nations domestic and foreign affairs. In the area of domestic affairs, especially when imperialism takes advantage of a weaker nations cheaper labor to produce certain products, then the more expensive labor in the "home country" may be disrupted.
Here's an example of this: When the British Empire dominated Egypt, Britain had great influence over that nations economy. Egypt produced cotton and goods created by this important crop. Thus, cotton products from Egypt could be imported to Great Britain much cheaper than the process of importing the raw cotton & having cotton products produced in Britain. This would adversely impact the cotton mills and textile industry at "home". It could force lay-offs among workers and/or close down factories involved with cotton because the domestic costs were now undercut by Egypt's cotton and production.
makes people power hungry and is the main cause for World War 1. we lost over a million people in that war. it can tear apart families and cities, home.
Imperialism can cause things like war and make other countries hate you and see you as a bully.
Japanese imperialism projected them into World War 2 in 1941; after the war the nation adopted a constitution and approach which put this behind them, to become a peaceful democracy.
Land & Trade
The US was the most productive country in the world. It produced many things and needed to sell them.
The united states wanted to take over other countries for military interest for the united states to have coalin stations around the world and to spread "democracy" and Christianity.
When you do bad things, bad things will happen to you (you will get bad Karma)

Imperialism is important because it was a way in which countries gain power and improve their economic situation. Although it was important, it had some bad consequences in some territories, since they were conquer by other people. Imperialism lead to many wars, and many people was killed
Things that make people bad are negative qualities like hatred and jealousy, envy and greediness, and also emotions like frustration/anger. All of this contributes to making a person do bad things. For a person to be bad most of the things that they do have to be bad things. We all do bad things sometimes, and sometimes we do bad things for good reasons. you are only a bad person if you intentionally do bad things.
