John Wayne GacyCriminal Profile

John Gacy was a leader in the Junior Chamber of Commerce and a successful independent contractor who sometimes dressed as Pogo the Clown to entertain children in hospitals and at charity events. Gacy's victims were male, between the ages of 9 and 27. He would lure them to his house, cholroform, handcuff, torture, rape, kill and bury them beneath his house or dump them in the local river. He reportedly enjoyed reading from The Bible and making peanut butter and jelly Sandwiches for his victims. When he was finally arrested by the Chicago Police in conjunction with the disappearance of a 14 year old boy, 28 bodies were found in his crawl space, followed by 5 more in the river. Sentenced to 21 life imprisonment's and 12 death sentences in 1988, Gacy went on to achieve notorieth painting portraits of himself in clown costumes for 10 years on death row before he died.

His alcoholic father reportedly called him a "sissy" and beat him so badly that he suffered blackouts for years. From death row, he alternately denied his crimes and attributed them to his traumatic childhood.
