The list below is of the countries that lists only sovereign states (independent countries) that are not in Europe. The divisions between what and Europe and what is Asia is at the Ural Mountains & River, Caspian Sea, the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea. Because of these divisions, the following countries have land in both Europe and Asia: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey. Also Armenia and Cyprus are considered as Europe but because of the divisions are entirely in Asia. The list below states all countries NOT in Europe:
