Yes you can, but it has to be done during or immediately after sex. Many people use spermicidal lubricant as an aid to another form of contraception like a diaphragm and put it on the outside of the condom or the penis. There are also spermicidal foams that are put inside the vagina and are in themselves a form of contraception, but are not as effective as the Pill or a condom.
