might be your catalytic converter being plugged up. An exhaust leak, bad head gasket, cracked head, clogged air filter, low compression, timing off, bad spark plugs. The 2.5 is a high compression engine, not enough back pressure in the exhaust will cause a drop in performance, via low compression in the 2 middle cylinders. The cat going bad or getting clogged up will also cause black puffs out of the exhaust, when it is very bad the car will stall and you will have to hold the gas pedal down to get it started and at stops to keep it running.
My 95 Firebird lost almost all of it's power one day and took it to the shop, turns out my mass aif flow sensor was bad and i had vacuum hose leaks and one had actually collapsed. So it's possible your engine isn't getting the air it needs.
Check the Power Steering Fluid level.
It could be a problem with the equipment used to send you power. There could be a problem at the substation. There could also be a line down. It could be that the bill was not paid. You may have to contact the company that provides you the power to get this matter resolved.

There is no fuel pump shut off switch on a Pontiac Firebird. Instead, it has a fuel pump relay under the hood in the power distribution box.

This site has a step by step guide for an older Firebird, but it is identical to what you need for a 2001. http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html
