King George III of Great Britain ruled in the United Kingdom from 1760 to 1820.

This included the period from the Seven Years War (French and Indian War) through the Napoleonic Wars of the early 1800s.

His reign is noted for the successful Revolutionary War by the American colonies (1775-1783), which formed the United States of America. This followed several decades of dissatisfaction with George III and Parliament. Beginning with the Stamp Act in 1765, and continuing through the Coercive (Intolerable) Acts of 1774, colonials became angered at legislation they viewed as intrusive and unfair.

Ok Hi I'm a different person that's going to tell you what he did. King George the 3rd made " Stamp Act" were people had to pay taxes on everything. Colonists got mad and started not paying. So the king decided to lift taxes but keep it on one thing,........... The tea. That caused colonists to create " The Boston Tea Party" ( which i won't detail unless u ask!) King George the 3rd then got really mad and made " The Intolerable Acts" They were 3 rules 1: to keep 1 soldier in everyone's house. They had to house, feed and cloth him. 2: They were put under the rule of a mean, tough, and strict leader named" Thomas Gage". 3: All docks were closed and no one was aloud to come or go unless the tea they destroyed was paid for. That caused the " Loyalists" and the" Patriots".( People that wanted to follow and dis-follow the king.)

King George the third was a very wise man and he gave London the Kew garden and he also started the sugar act and the stamp act to get money because he lost money from the french and Indian war. But as he was getting older he got a disease called Porphria, he was going mad.He also was very popular in Britain because of his piety and how much love he showed, oh and did i mention that he loved his wife AALLLLOOOTTT!!!!!!Which is very unusual for a king

Depending upon which side of the Atlantic you are on, George was either a good king or a bad king. George was king during the American Revolution and was the symbol of the crown so he has been reviled by many as a despot, cruel etc.

To others George is seen much like the first person wrote, as a good man. He was called the Farmer George because he loved agriculture and farming. He was a man of simple tastes as well. By all accounts his marriage was a happy one, he and the Queen were devoted to one another.

George also suffered from porphyria, a genetic disease that plunged him into madness.

George was King:

at the time of the American Revolution

during the rise and fall of Napoleon
