There was not a name for Jewish soldiers. The Jews did not fight in the Roman army.
Soldiers on foot are commonly referred to as infantry.
Soldiers that fight on the front without the use of a vehicle can be called a soldier if referring to one or infantry if referring to a squad/team.
Regulars is a term that refers to professional soldiers. The Americans were defending their land with volunteer soldiers or what is called "militia" and became known as "Minute Men"---because they were ready to fight at a minutes' notice.
