You have problems. It could be piston rings or valve seals. Either way you have major problems that will require removing the heads.
A 2: I had oil on top of my plugs and it was due to a bad valve cover gasket. This depends on if your oil was on the top or bottom of the plugs. If on bottom refer to the first answer.
A 3: They are both right but I had the same problem and it was because the ignition coil was bad and it wasn't sparking right, spark plug had a mix of both oil and fuel.
Do you mean re-gap the plugs? Get a spark plug gapper, and set the gap to between .052-.056.
If you mean it won't crank then the starter is defective. If you mean it will crank but not start it isn't getting fuel, spark or compression.
needs new spark plugs and tune up
you mean plugs?
What does it mean when the airbag light and battery light on 1999 Ford Escort flashes?
What's a PVC? Perhaps you mean PCV (Positve Crankcase Ventilation) valve.
Most had a V-6 under the hod, which would mean 6 spark plugs.
If you mean it is only running on 3 cylinders, you should check your spark plugs, spark plug wires and the distributor.
No , it has four fuel injectors but it has Fords twin plug ignition system so it has eight spark plugs
On a Ford Escort , if the eighth digit of your VIN is a " P " that means you have a SOHC ( Single Over Head Cam ) engine
If you mean ford escort, mk6 stands for the model shape, mk6 was made from 95-98
Assuming you mean no spark at the spark plugs; check for spark at the coil - if you have spark, then remove the distributor cap and check the rotor and contacts for corrosion. If you don't have spark at the coil, then either the coil is bad or you have a broken wire in the system. (Coils seldom go bad but there is always that possibility). Hope this helps.
