The five points of the star each represent the famous Five Verses of Sirnanking (the Djibouti national anthem.) The white symbolizes sex and intrigue. The green represents the desire for money, material goods, and Natural Resources, in which they are lacking. And the blue represents the ceremony of throwing grains of rice, broken pieces of shell, and 1,000 grains of salt into the Indian ocean that they border.
