Self-determination is the right for each ethnic group to be able to govern its own affairs and create a state that reflects its owns values. Israel is the Jewish attempt at self-determination. The Palestinian Authority is the Palestinian Arab attempt at self-determination.
Jews are a religious group. That religious group was not engaged in any holy wars or other religious confrontation in the year 2008. The question may perhaps be referring to Jewish social concerns where Jews "fight" in courtrooms the world over for equality and justice, but this is not the common usage of the word "fight". If the asker is using the term "Jews" euphemistically and incorrectly to refer to "Israelis", the answer would be that Israel was fighting Gaza in late 2008 to early 2009. It is incorrect to use the term "Jews" to refer to the Israelis since Israel has several minorities that serve in its government and army who are not Jewish, yet still have an important say in Israel's future and ideals.

Jews (as a group) do not fight with Muslims (as a group). There is certainly the Israeli-Palestinian and Arab-Israeli Conflict where a majority-Jewish army faces off against primarily majority-Sunni Arabs. However, the conflict is a nationalistic conflict where religion is only an ethnic-marker. Most Israelis are Jews and most Palestinians and Levantine Arabs are Sunni Muslims. However, Israel has also fought against Hezbollah and performed subterfuge against Iran which are both Shiite Muslim groups/countries.
