This basically means attacking weak choices and ignoring the good or better choices. Another way of saying it is when an argument misrepresents the consequences of the choices that are available when making a decision, or fails to present all choices available.
False Dilemma (Either/Or)--example:Either we fight the terrorists in Iraq, or we'll be fighting them in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
A false dilemma is a logical fallacy where only two options are presented as possible, when in reality there are other choices or nuances that have not been considered. It limits the options to oversimplify the situation and manipulate the audience into accepting one of the presented choices.
One example of a false dilemma fallacy is when someone argues that you can either support a political party or be considered unpatriotic, ignoring the possibility of having other legitimate reasons for not supporting that party.

A dilemma is a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two or more alternatives, especially equally undesirable ones. It often involves a conflict between equally important values or ethical principles.
Fallacies of presumption occur when an argument is based on an unjustified assumption or presupposition. Examples include begging the question (assuming the truth of the conclusion in the premise), false dilemma (presenting only two options when more exist), and complex question (posing a question that assumes something not yet proven).

False dilemma is a logical fallacy. A logical fallacy is a tool used to point out an inherent weakness in an argument. Several fallacies are used over and over again in various contexts and so it has become useful to categorize these fallacies so they can be pointed out and acted on. The false dilemma is a logical fallacy where the arguer states that only two outcomes are possible when reality shows that there may be many more. First of all, we should note that the analysis of the speech that I am performing is not on the basis of any political merit of Obama's speech, but purely on the philosophical and logical merits of it. A false dilemma is when someone provides only two (or more) choices of how a situation could turn out when there may be many other choices that have not been seriously considered and could be viable alternatives. The speech in general uses the false dilemma of you must either (1) raise taxes on the wealthy or (2) raise Medicare taxes and student loan interest rates to recoup the money. This is a false dilemma because there are many other solutions. If you want to increase revenue, you could instead tax corporations or industry more strongly, require greater property taxes, increase the estate tax, invest US government funds, or issue more bonds. Conversely, you could make the government smaller so the current tax influx would be sufficient to pay for what is budgeted. The lack of consideration for these alternatives is what makes Obama's argument a false dilemma.
The original dilemma opposed to the modern dilemma is the controversey of freedom vs. order whereas the modern dilemma is freedom vs. equality
An alliterative sentence for dilemma is "Danny dared Don to draw a dramatic dilemma."
