A perfect new SAT score is 2400 average is 1500

AnswerAn 1800 is approximately like getting a 1200 on the old scale. To judge your score based on the old scale, just add your critical reading and math scores together, and that should give you some idea.

1550 is about the avg out of 2400.

A good SAT score is typically considered to be around 1200-1400 out of a total of 1600. However, what constitutes a good score can vary depending on the colleges or universities to which you are applying. It's always best to research the average scores of admitted students at your target schools.

SAT tips

The SAT perfect score you can get is a 2400. But very few even make it to the 2000 range. Anything above 1600 is great. Also don't go off topic with you're essay, if you do serious points will be deducted. Most colleges mainly look at your GPA's and extracurricular activities, so don't stress too much about your score. Good Luck!
Also, a good score could be considered around the 2000 range, like stated above, but everything really depends on your practice test scores, and how well you yourself do. Your GPA is half of what colleges look at, your SAT scores (Including all other standardized tests like the ACT's.) are worth about a quarter. Extracurriculars and other things make up the last quarter.

Is 1800 a good SAT score?

AnswerIt was a perfect score on the old test. The new test is out of 2400 points, 1500 is about average. "Is it a good score?" This is the wrong question to be asking. Instead, look at the average scores reported by the schools you plan on applying to. Does your score fall into those ranges? A good score will enable you to attend the school you want to attend. Remember, if your score is lower than a school's reported averages it is important to compensate for that low score in other areas of your application like GPA and your personal statement.
