  • Divorce is hard on the children of any age, but especially for minors. Often the children blame themselves thinking they are cause, but is not the truth and the way to look at it is the fact your mother and father are simply individuals like yourself and have fallen out of love. Sometimes the spark goes out of the marriage. This does not mean you cannot spend time with both parents and that you have to choose sides. It would be wise of you if possible to speak to your father and mother separately and voice your concerns. No matter what is going on with your parents they both love you and none of it is your fault. Divorce is also hard on your parents because they once loved each other and although they may argue and be angry with each other this has nothing to do with you as far you causing them any harm. The divorce rate is extremely high both in the United States and Canada so you are not alone and there is no need to feel isolated because of your parents pending divorce. Do not be afraid to ask your parents questions.
