Nirvana (nibbana) is the end of suffering and freedom from defilements of mind, such as aggression, craving, and delusion. It is the end of the seemingly endless cycle of birth and death. According to the Buddha, one can reach it by following the Noble Eightfold Path.
Nirvana is not a place like the Christian heaven or Boston, but a state of mind. The state of mind is selfless awareness not bliss or happiness.
Attaining Nirvana may come after becoming fully enlightened and being able to follow the Eightfold Path. This usually comes after countless cycles of death and rebirth. Bddshists do not necessarily enter into Nirvana after enlightenment. They may choose to reenter the cycle of death and rebirth to provide instruction to the unenlightened.
NIrvana is a state of mind more than a place. It is attained by achieving enlightenment. This basically means running one's life by an inherent understanding and compliance with the Eightfold Path. IN In that condition one leads a balance life without many of the desires which contribute to pain in on's life. This is the ease filled balance. The last item to be shed is he desire to have a feeling of self which is shed when one gains Nirvana and enters into a selfless integration with the whole.It should be pointed out that in Mahayana Buddhist practice the enlightened do not need to enter Nirvana after enlightenment but may return to the cycle of death and rebirth to aid others in their progress to enlightenment.
Nirvana is only obtained by completely ridding the soul from the world. That means no desire what so ever.
By chanting nam myoho renge kyo and making a determination to not be defeated in your cause to overcome your obstacles to obtain your goal. True happiness, it is in all of us.
Since that's a relative term no one can tell you how to get to where you think it is without being able to read you mind.

Nirvana in the Hindu religion means having a connection and being at peace with Brahman. Brahman means the reality of the world.
The Buddha described Nirvana as the state of mind that one who is liberated from Samsara (suffering) will experience, the perfect peace of mind. It is our mind that keeps us in Samara or enables us to become liberated from it. By using our mind to overcome the illusions of suffering we can reach the state of Nirvana.
