Minimal computer literacy should include sending email, browsing on the internet and using CDs and DVDs. With more functional computer literacy you should be able to use a word processor (MS Word), a spreadsheet (MS Excel), and a printer. Beyond this, I recommend taking a computer literacy class.

Knowledge and understanding of all necessary technologiesfor your typical social tasks, daily tasks, and job tasks with the ability to use them all safely and with confidence.

This does not mean one must know all technologies, only the ones you must be able to use to "function adequately" in society, daily life, and job as they exist during your lifetime.
