Chris Spirrison successfully did 248 lbs on a 3rd attempt on 26 FEB 2011 at a sanctioned NASA meet in Tyler, TX - the East Texas State Championship. This is a new American Record and an All Time Curl Weight for all of NASA.
Bruce Lee is one of the record holders, but unknown if he is at the top. For one single arm Lee could curl 115 lbs. for at least one rep. This was recorded and photographed at Black Belt Magazine. However, he IS known to be the record holder for doing the feat at only 124 lbs body weight. His body weight fluctuated between 124-133 lbs. In that fluctuation, he was also able to curl in a single arm 80 lbs for at lest 8 reps.
Denis Rogers at Memorial City Hall in Houston Texas had curled in a single arm 98 lbs. for 8 reps and is also one of the world record holders, and his body weight at the time was 148 lbs.

The bicep curl obviously helps the Bicep but it also helps you triceps as you pull your fist towards you your are contracting your bicept and relaxing your tricep
The preacher curl in my opinion is the best bicep exercise. It is better than barbell curl because barbell curl works bicep brachii but it does not give enough work to brachialis muscle.Preacher curl works both Bicep brachii and brachialis.First Mr.Olympia Larry "The legend"Scott used to do Preacher curl and he developed 20' inch Arm.
if you're speaking anatomically (as in origin and insertion), the origin of the bicep curl would be its fixed attachment at the supraglenoid tubercle and the coracoid process (two heads), as a bicep curl is an open chain motion (distal end is free moving --> proximal end is the origin). it would be more correct, though, to say refer to it as the origin of the biceps during a bicep curl.
The current world record for the reverse curl is 115 pounds for men and 66 pounds for women.

yes it is, when holding a weight your arm is extended/ extension, when performing a bicep curl your arm becomes contracted which mean flexion. hope that this helped!! :)
