What is the firing order for a 1984 2.8 v-6 Chevy s-10?
the fireing order for a Chevy 305 is 18436572 with #1 being the drivers side plug closest to the radiator.
Answer 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
Answer firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6 from the front of the engine on the driver side is 2-4-6 and the passanger side from the front of the car is 1-3-5
For 87 and later models... cylinders 2,4,6 are on the front bank(think radiator side) and cylinders 1,3,5 are on the rear bank(firewall side)..these are listed from left to ri…ght when standing in front of the engine/car. The coils are 1-4-6-3-2-5 from the front of the engine(left to right of course) Dont confuse this, but the firing order is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. But this info isn't really needed when you have the above info.
There are several American brands that used a 2.8 liter V6 check this website: autorepair (dot) about.com/od/enginefiringorders1/Engine_Firing_Orders.htm
try looking on the engine manifold to see if it says firing order....135246. If it says this like this.... 1 3 5 2 4 6 then the number one cylinder is on the passenger s…ide of the engine 1st one in front then behind that one is 3 and then 5 and starting from the drivers's side front of the engine it's 2 then 4 then 6. ON the distributor cap, you need to know which one is number one to begin with. If you haven't removed the cap, and the engine is in the firing order of 135246, then bump the engine with the number 1 spark plug removed and with your finger, feel the air come up with the cylinder at the top and stop the engine there when it reaches what is called Top Dead Center, that is when the cylinder pushes to the top of the engine and is ready to fire the plug. Then remove the dist. cap and see which on the rotor is pointing towards on the cap and that one is the number 1 plug wire. Then in the oder around the cap its the same as the numbers in the order 135246. IF YOU DONT' GET ALL THIS, GET A CHILTONS MANUAL FROM THE LOCAL LIBRARY AND LOOK IT UP FOR YOUR VEHICLE, IT WILL SHOW YOU PICTURES OF WHAT I AM SAYING. YOU CAN ZEROX THE INFORMATION FROM THE BOOK AND JUST TAKE IT WITH YOU TO DO IT. THAT'S THE EASIEST WAY.
its 1-2-3-4-5-6. starts from the passenger side front. so if your looking at the engine. left side is 1-3-5. right side of engine 2-4-6
