the park tab is bent. it is a thick piece of metal that must be bent back slightly toward the wiper motor with a hammer or plyers.
I assume this issue started when there was snow/ice on the windshield?
Check the owners manual. It will contain all that fuse info. ================================================================================= According to the 2000 Mercury Cougar Owner Guide : In the passenger compartment fuse panel : ( # 20 is a 10 amp fuse , black color , for the wipers ) * also , relay # 15 , green color , is for the front wipers
either you need a new wiper switch or a new wiper motor one or the other has a short in it
system glitch or a short
you have to pull out the entire dash and sterring wheel to get to it. and good luck just finished mine and had to pull out again because the wipers would not work
bad fuse, relay, wiring, or motor... get a test light and start trieng stuff
Wipers normally use a breaker, not a fuse.
wiper motor bout worn out. my 1998 merc does the same. replace ya wiper motor.
the windsheild wiper motor clutch/windlatch is broken
A bad pulse board or window wiper motor can cause your wipers to stay in the "up" position.
The windshield wipers are not automatic... the lever that controls the wipers have three positions and you will have to pull the lever down to the off position. The position below off is for mist. If you pull the lever to that position and let it go, the lever will go back to the off position.
bad fuse... try the horn, its on the same circuit as them
I have a vague recollection that the neutral start switch could be the problem.See "Related Questions" below for more
