The best way for me to answer that is if you open the hood and look at the coolant reservoir, the color of the top of the cap is usually what you put in it.
So the best thing to do is look at your cap. If for some reason you have an after market cap on your reservoir, then put Prestone muliti / universal coolant. It is made to mix with all types of coolant. I Flushed my radiator and just used that to refill the whole system.
In the coolant reservoir when the engine is cool.
Your engine should be cold ( to be on the safe side) when adding antifreeze/coolant. i let the car sit overnight and then add it.
Your 50 / 50 mixture of antifreeze and preferably distilled water should be right near the top of the radiator ( as long as you can put the cap on without the antifreeze mixture overflowing ) The plastic coolant reservoir in the passenger side of the engine compartment has a cold mark on it , just maintain your coolant level up to the cold mark when the engine is cold . ( Ford recommends to not drop below 40 % antifreeze and not exceed 60 % antifreeze in your engine coolant mixture )
No , on my vehicle there is a cold fill mark . When the engine is cold the engine coolant should be up to the cold fill mark
A 50/50 mix of water and a good quality antifreeze
You should check your fluid levels, your oil and coolant.
The 1997 Plymouth Voyager 3.0 liter engine coolant capacity is 5.5 gallons. The coolant should be at a minimum of 50 percent antifreeze.
If the engine coolant is rusty color you would need to have the engine cooling system flushed and then a new 50 / 50 mixture of preferably distilled water and antifreeze used to refill the system
You didn't mention what year or engine it has but it if the cooling system is void of all coolant, it should hold between 14 to 16 qts of coolant.
Regular coolant or a global coolant will work also. Thanks for your answer. I failed to mention that I have yellow in radiator now, should I stay with yellow? Is there harm in mixing colors?
Should be a 50/50 mixture of water and a good quality antifreeze You can purchase a premix
get the universal antifreeze it can be used with the blue or red antifreeze
