Robert Mapplethorpe was the artist. The exhibit was X something... The exhibit was called The Perfect Moment and included 7 photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe called The X Portfolio. It was exhibited in Cincinnati at the Contemporary Arts Center and the center was charged with exhibiting pornography. I saw this same exhibit a week earlier in nearby Dayton, Ohio at Wright State University and its interesting that absolutely no one protested the exhibit there.
