During the cold war (1945-1990) (the Soviets tested their first A-Bomb in 1949) our city (your home) could at any time have a MUSHROOM CLOUD floating over it. Meaning a Nuclear Device has just detonated in your neighborhood. Sirens were placed around street corners in the 1960's; underground anti-aircraft missile silos were buried near supermarkets and schools. School children had "Duck and Cover Drills" instead of fire drills. This was in the United States while Rock 'N Roll bands played their Guitars in the 60's...few if any knew about those underground missile silos. It all went away with the cold war.
