What I usually do to get out of ultimatums is retort with a smart comment or another ultimatum, use humor to push the person away from an ultimatum, or negotiate terms of the ultimatum depending on who I'm talking to. Although, if it's not an impossible task, or one that is nessecarily wmbarrasing, the best thing to do would probably be to just submit to the terms. Remember future consequences that may adversely affect any aspects of your life when considering to submit to an ultimatum.
