It could possibly die, animals must be able to adapt to the habitat in which they live in. If the do not adapt, the could die.
Things would break down extremely slowly (mostly from ultraviolet and abrasion), much like what happens today with most plastic.
Its battery would leak or pollute the tube.
The organisms living in the habitat will eventually perish(die).
Loss of water through osmosis is what would occur. The protozoan would shrivel up if it did not have a way to replace freshwater in its cells.
They would go extinct.

Nothing would happen, the flashlight simply wouldn't work. Switch the batteries back around and it will work. This is purely because the contacts don't line up properly. A normal incandescent lamp will work either way round. A modern LED flashlight however is polarity sensitive.
