Jesus' disciples asked him the same thing and Jesus answers only God knows the answer.

Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only."
No person knows. We can guess, but that would just be a guess. We can't know for sure until it's happening. Many people in the past have tried to guess, but since we're still here, they were wrong. The Bible says it will happen soon, but it does not give an exact day. No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. "Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." -- Matthew16:28 "But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God." -- Luke 9:27 "Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation." -- Matthew 23:36 "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." -- Matthew 24:34 "Nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." -- Matthew 26:64 "Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power." -- Mark 9:1 "Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." -- Mark 13:30 "And ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." -- Mark 14:62 "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled." -- Luke 21:32 "Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?" -- John 21:22 "Waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ ... that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ." -- 1 Corinthians 1:7-8 "But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none." -- 1 Corinthians 7:29 "That ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. -- Philippians 1:10 "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." -- 1 Thessalonians 4:17 "I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." -- 1 Thessalonians 5:23 "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son...." -- Hebrews 1:2 "But now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself." -- Hebrews 9:26 "Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you." -- 1 Peter 1:20 "But the end of all things is at hand." -- 1 Peter 4:7 "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time." -- 1 John 2:18 "The Lord is at hand." -- Philippians 4:5 "For the coming of the Lord draweth nigh." -- James 5:8 "For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry." -- Hebrews 10:37 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass. -- Revelation 1:1 "The time is at hand." -- Revelation 1:3 "Behold, I come quickly." -- Revelation 3:11, 22:7, 22:12 "Surely I come quickly." -- Revelation 22:20 When will Jesus return?

May 21 2011 For every passage in the bible concerning time it says that Jesus will return it states He will return as a thief in the night but few continue to read where it states that "but unto to you the children of light you will not be left unaware you will know the times and the seasons. Jesus is returning as a thief in the night on that great a terrible day....... Terrible day?????? only to those who are not saved for those who are saved it is a great day.. Family Radio.com explaines alot better than I can but so far everything I have read works out perfectly with the bible.

The entire existance of this planet from creation to destruction is 13023 years. 23 years is given to satan to rule in the churches and according to family radio he has since 1988.. 1988 plus 23 = 2011 and may 21 is a feast day. 6023 years from creation to flood 2-17-4990. plus 7000 to rapture. = 13023 years May 21 2011 plus 5 months of darkness before the judgement day oct 23 2011 which not so ironicaly is 153 days. Did you know that Jesus healed 153 people while here on Earth, Did you know that when Jesus told them to fish from the right side of the boat they caught 153 fish Why did they count the Fish??? these are our clues to figure out. We need to spend more time in the word and these answers will be revealed.

No one but God knows when Jesus is coming. You should not wait for Jesus to come. You should tell other people he is coming and preach about god's love for his children. Also Jesus will come in the blink of an eye. So BE READY.

Answer

Jesus said only the Father knows.

Answer: we do not know. we try to predict. I know you feel like "but thsi time it REALLY IS HAPPENING. But I can strongly assure you, with evidence from the Bible, the only reliable truth (you can check its historical reliability if u want) that only The Father (our God) knows. People who criticise the Bible predict based on numbers in the Bible, so when Jesus doesn't come, they try to say that Jesus isn't real or he lied! That's absurd! The Bible is true, THE TRUTH. These predictions may sound like they're true, but I have just had an amazing awakening with this same problem. Jesus loves us. We are his children, not his slaves. As his children, out of gratitude for what he did when we were sinners, and still are, we will serve Him. NOT because we have to. But you ask:

"How do I know when it is God speaking to me, asking something of me?"

The answer: "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace." -1 Corinthians 14:33 If you are feeling stressed about it, pray first. If you are still feeling lost, or feel like now is not the right time...

If you are questioning whether it is God or not, think of these things:

1. Will this truly help people?

2. Will this cause stress to people?

3. Am I coming on too strong?

4. Would God really want me to do this, for my own good, theirs and His?

5. Will this follow Jesus' example?

I tell you these things as pure advice, and out of pure experience. I AM NOT perfect, but I have learned from the Perfect. He is my strength. In Him, not ahead or before him; IN HIM I FIND peace...

SO DON'T WAIT TIL "JESUS IS ABOUT TO COME." BELIEVE NOW. NOW IS THE TIME.

The peace you wll feel is indescribable....

Amazing videos about God's love for us.... there is no necessary reason to predict when you already know that we will never know

Answer:

Jesus gives us a chronology of things to look for in Matthew 24, before the nations of the world will look up and see Him coming. The very moment of His coming is found in verses 30 and 31:

"And THEN shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and THEN shall all the tribes [nations] of the earth MOURN, and THEY SHALL SEE the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with Power and Great Glory. And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a Trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

Bible prophecy refers to this time as "the Day of the Lord" -- the time of GOD's WRATH coming on the earth. The time when He wrests the rulership of the earth away from man and the god of this world, whom man chose to bow to, worship and obey since the beginning.

Of that time... the Bible tells NOT TO WISH FOR IT.

"...There will be wailing in all the streets and cries of anguish in every public square... There will be wailing in all the vineyards, for I WILL PASS THROUGH YOUR MIDST, says the LORD. WOE to you who long for the Day of the LORD! Why do you long for the Day of the LORD? That Day will be DARKNESS, not light." (Amos 5:16-18 NIV)

God's servants are told to EXPECT Him. And the Bible is very clear as to the time they are to LOOK UP to see Him. It will be the very same time that all the rest of the world will look up in horror and dread -- when THEY SEE HIS SUN-LIKE, BRILLIANT SELF CUTTING THROUGH THE DARK CLOUDS THAT WILL BE COVERING THE EARTH!

Jesus tells us that the days of global distress [Great Tribulation] that shall oppress the world before the time of His coming; "the Day of the Lord," will have to be "cut short"... or all life on earth will cease to exist:

"...there will be Great Distress [KJV: Great Tribulation], unequaled from the beginning of the world until now -- and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, NO ONE WOULD SURVIVE, but for the sake of the elect [the chosen of God] those days will be shortened." (Matt.24:21-22 NIV)

Jesus tells us that all during this time... there will be many false sightings, stories and hoaxes by people that "He has come back!"

"At THAT TIME [the time of the coming Great Tribulation] if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There He is!' DO NOT BELIEVE IT. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect -- if possible.

"See, I HAVE TOLD YOU AHEAD OF TIME.

"So if anyone tells you, 'There He is, out in the desert,' DO NOT GO OUT; or, 'Here He is, in the inner rooms,' DO NOT BELIEVE IT." (verses 23-26)

The world is not in this "prophesied Distress," yet.

The "cutting short" of the coming global life-threatening Great Tribulation will be accomplished by the "darkening of the earth" by the CLOUDS Jesus mentions in Matthew 24:30 and the other prophecies about "the Day of the Lord."

"...for the Day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand -- a Day of darkness and gloom, a Day of CLOUDS and blackness..." (Joel 2:1-2 NIV)

"The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood BEFORE the COMING of the Great and Dreadful DAY OF THE LORD." (verse 31)

Jesus pinpoints this time a little more for His servants in His chronological Matthew 24 prophecy:

"IMMEDIATELY AFTER the Distress [the Great Tribulation] of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken." (Matt.24:29)

This verse precedes the chronological moment of Jesus' coming [verses 30-31].

The Bible is crystal clear as to what to look for, to absolutely KNOW when Jesus is coming.

The entire world shall be in an unprecedented distress and upheaval that will threaten to end all life upon it. This will cause God to "shorten those days" with a global cloud cover [probably including life-threatening nuclear fallout]... and other disruptions of "nature," like meteor and asteroid showers, and earthquakes.

These things will "cut short" man's activity on earth, to prevent him from bringing about the ultimate and inevitable conclusion of his Satan-guided insanity... the utter destruction of the earth.

This is when Jesus is coming.

Other prophecies speak of a "man of sin" [the Beast] to be revealed before Jesus comes [II Thess.2:1-3]... who will rule during the Great Tribulation for 3 1/2 years [Rev.13:5]. Some people call him "the Antichrist"... although the Bible doesn't.

Also, the Two Witnesses are prophesied to give their testimony for the 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation in Jerusalem... whom the "man of sin" [the Beast] will kill at the end of that time [see Rev.11].

Jesus' servants are "looking for it"... expecting it. Darkness across the face of the planet. They're looking for and expecting His brilliance to cut through this cloud cover as He approaches -- a Brilliant Light that the whole world will see and not be able to miss:

"...His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance." (Rev.1:16 NIV)

It will be the only Light that it shall have seen for awhile by that time:

"I watched as He opened the SIXTH SEAL. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth... The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

"Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man HID IN CAVES and AMONG THE ROCKS OF THE MOUNTAINS. They called to the mountains and the rocks, 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the Throne and from THE WRATH OF THE LAMB! For the GREAT DAY OF THEIR WRATH HAS COME, and who can stand?" (Rev.6:12-17 NIV)

Jesus will come when the earth is covered in darkness. When stars fall from the sky, the earth shakes mightily... when mountains and islands are moved out of their places -- and when everyone left alive on earth scatters to hide in caves and the moving mountains; anything to get away from the approaching Light.

His servants are still looking for that day.

The Bible, however, tells them not to "long for it" [to yearn or hunger for it]. Because it won't be a pleasant day [other than to save them from their persecution, pain and suffering]. It will be a desperate time of struggle and survival for all life on earth.

Until that day comes... Jesus' servants have the "good news" of the Kingdom of God to preach... of the Peace and Harmony that will rule on earth when man's rule... and his god... are removed. And they have a "warning" to give the nations of the earth regarding the coming clouds and darkness that will precede "the Day of the Lord's" coming.

Jesus told us in the Gospels that only the Father knew when the end would come. But he also said that just as we can discern the weather by certain signs, we can know the end of the world is close by the signs. The Bible spells out certain signs to look for. The point is not to know the exact day or hour.

Jesus disciples also wanted to know the answer to that question. We read that account at Matthew chapter 24 beginning with the 3rd verse. At Matthew 24:3, they posed the question, "...what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"(King James)

We see that in their questioning, the connection is made between Jesus "coming" and the "end of the world." In other words, these two events would be associated with one another. So, if we can find out more about Jesus "coming," then we can also learn more about "the end of the world."

The Greek word translated "coming" in the King James Version was "parousia" (pronounced pair-oo-see-uh). That word literally means "presence." It conveys the idea, not of something that is on the way to a destination, but rather it indicates something that has already arrived and is now present. So the question that the disciples were really asking Jesus was, 'what would be the sign that you have arrived?' That is why some other Bible translations use the word "presence" instead of the word "coming" in this passage.

When the prophesy about the "sign" is being fullfilled, we would know that Jesus has already arrived and is now present in kingly power.

Why would they need a sign that Jesus is here, if "every eye would see him" according to Luke 21:27? Because they knew that Jesus "coming" or "presence" would not literally be visible to the human eye, as Jesus himself said at John 14:19 that "...the world will behold me no more." Every eye would "see" Jesus coming in the sence that everyone on earth would see the effects of his presence. His presence would affect every man, woman, and child alive on earth at that time. So, the disciples asked for a sign, knowing that a sign would be needed to discern Jesus presence. A sign of his presence would also be needed because, as Jesus said, 'nobody except God knows the day nor the hour' of his coming and the end of the world.-(Matthew 24:36)

So what "sign" did Jesus give? Matthew chapter 24 and Luke chapter 21 is where we read about the sign. He listed wars on a world-wide scale and food shortages (Matt 24:7; Luke 21:10), earthquakes (Matthew 24:7; Luke 21:11), pestilences or deadly diseases (Luke 21:11), lawlessness or crime, and because of this people in general would not have love for one another anymore (Matt 24:11,12), there would be an increasing of fear and uncertainty among people (Luke 21:25,26), and he also said that there would be a global preaching of the good news about God's Kingdom ruled by Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:14).

We are seeing these things being fullfilled in earnest in our day. In fact, for several decades we have seen world wars, famines, earthquakes, increasing of crime, fear on the part of humankind, a cooling off of love, and we have also seen a worldwide preaching of the good news about God's Kingdom in everywhere across the face of the earth.

The Apostle Paul gave further evidences of the "last days" in 2 Timothy 3: 1-5, when he wrote, "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

Again, just like Jesus words, we have seen the fullfillment of all these things in our day.

The evidence is clear that we are now living in the "last days" and in the presence of Jesus kingly rulership. Jesus is now present, ruling in heaven as king of God's Kingdom. Soon, he will also "come" in the sence that he will turn his attention to the earth to bring about God's will for mankind here on the earth. This is what Jesus actually taught us to pray for in the "Lord's Prayer," or the "Our Father Prayer," as some call it, where he told us to pray,"Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, as in heaven, also apon the earth." In other words he was teaching us to pray for God's kingdom rule to come and God's will be accomplished here on the earth as it is in heaven.-(Matthew 6:9,10)

We do not know exactly when Jesus will "come" as far as turning his attention and kingly rule earthward. Jesus said nobody except God knows the day nor the hour.(Matthew 24:36) But we do know that his "presence" or "parousia" has begun in heaven because of the events on earth. We also know that since he is now present in kingly power, The end of the ungodly world of wicked mankind is near. (2 Peter 3:7; Luke 21:28)

One Answer:

It is undefined, but there are many myths and stories about when hewill return. Read revelations for an in depth answer, because there are many signs already happening. I.E daughters and sons turning on parents, more man-made and natural distasters, everyone hearing about God's word, and there are many others. So with all these things happening this may call for jesus to come back and help us again. But we will never know until it actually happens.

...more man-made and natural disasters- more man made waste

everyone hearing about God's word- Really insistent and annoying missionaries

Another thought:

Many feel that the signs we're experiencing now, listed at Matthew 24:3-14, and 2 Timothy 3:1-5, show that Jesus has already "returned" in spirit form. That is, he has taken kingly power in Heaven (where he immediately cast Satan to the earth (Revelation 12:9-12)), and will, at God's command, take over rulership of the earth. We can see this from a few scriptural citations, such as what's called 'the ride of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse' at Revelation 6:1-8. The FIRST rider(Jesus Christ)takes command as King (Genesis 49:10)(Psalm 21:3)(Ezekiel 21:27)(Daniel 7:14)(Revelation 14:14) THEN, AFTER his ride, all the bad conditions...food shortage, plague, war, death...followed, after Satan was hurled down. The bad conditions present with us today are different than ever before, because they're EVERY where... wars, earthquakes, violence, disease, in 'one place after another'. There IS no 'safe place' anymore...these are signs that Jesus 'is near at the door'(Matthew 24:32-33), sitting at God's 'right hand', ready to step in and cleanse the earth at God's command.(Psalm 110:1/Mark 12:35-37)(Matthew 26:64)(Mark 14:62)(Matthew 24:14).

Another Answer:

There is no scientific proof when he will come back but as long as you believe in him and follow gods word then you have noting to worry about! I cant stand that people dont believe in him because he is real and if you dont believe me then why does the bible fit together when over 100000 people wrote it? It all fit together! Perfictly! I believe in the lord jesus christ! If you dont you need to talk to the lord and find out what you need to do to get yourself in a christain or a catholic way! ( i prefer christian!) If you need help you can always ask me and i hope you always take my word for this and i love you all and hope you have a blessed day!

Jesus will surely come to earth a second time, but only god the father knowa the time. Not even the angels know the time.

Another answer:

Hello, friends upstairs! I read your answer, as if they saw before himself. I am a Christian, because seeing envy strife church pastor elders, brothers and sisters also cool confidence, a lot of people have receded, I was very confused, and very helpless, but also a lot of prayer for this, but still do not feel to the presence of God, Even so, some still believe that the Lord will come to meet us, we just wait for the alert can see the Lord's return. Until someone gave me pass eschatological conduct their Almighty God, from God's Word manipulation I understand that our Lord Jesus has come back, and God started a new job, so the age of grace will be desolate church, we gotta God's footsteps, this is the man to follow the footsteps of the lamb. Here are one myth poetry, now for everyone to share, let us speak with the heart of God for us to feel it.

Tne Hymn of God's word :God Has Brought His Glory to the East

God gave His glory to Israel then moved it away from there,

bringing the Israelites and bringing all men to the East.

God has led them all to the "light"

so that they may be reunited and associate with light,

no longer have to search, search for the light.

God will let all who are in search see the light again

and the glory it had in Israel,

see God has come down upon a white cloud among men,

see the clouds of white, see the clusters of fruit,

see Jehovah God of Israel, God of Israel,

see the "Master" of the Jews, see the longed-for Messiah,

and the full appearance of Him persecuted by kings throughout the ages.

God will do the work of the universe and perform great works,

showing all His glory and all His deeds to man in the last days.

God will show His full countenance of glory

to those who have awaited Him for many years,

to those who have longed for Him to come upon a white cloud,

to Israel that has longed for Him to appear once more,

to all mankind who persecute God.

So all will know God has long ago taken away His glory

and brought it to the East.

It's not in Judea, for the last days have come!

Jesus came to earth over 2000 years ago as a baby born to the virgin Mary.

He ministered on earth for about 3 and one half years and then at His appointed time He went to the cross to die for mankind's sins. He was buried and arose from the dead on the third day. If you want to have eternal life in heaven with Jesus you can accept Him as your Savior (If you believe in your heart).

Some people believe Jesus is coming back soon and will fulfill many prophecies. This is called the "Second Coming'. No one knows for sure when He will return the second time, but there are signs according to the Bible that gives a general time line.

It is important to belong to Jesus as soon the "Day of Salvation" will be over and you will pay the penalty for your sins. That penalty is eternal death.

Jesus said no person knows the day or the hour of His return, not even Himself while He was here on earth. Only the Father knew at that time.

We see in this that Christ allowed certain aspects of His deity to be set aside, "Who thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men." Philippians 2:6,7.

Christ warned against being fooled by those who would claim to know the time of His return or that He had actually come. He said "Believe them not."
Only God the Father knows when Christ will return:-
Mat 24:29-31,36 KJV Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: [v. 30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [v. 31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. [v.36] But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Mar 13:19-27, 32-37 KJV For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. [v.20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. [v. 21] And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: [v. 22] For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. [v. 23] But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. [v. 24] But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, [v. 25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. [v. 26] And then shall they seethe Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. [v. 27] And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. [v.37] But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. [v. 33] Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. [v. 34] For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. [v. 35] Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: [v. 36] Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. [v. 37] And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Jesus specifically says no man will know, and to watch and pray until that day comes.

Jesus will be coming very soon. He will come when we are not expecting it. He might come this minute. He might come a minute later, a hour later. So accept Jesus into your heart (believe in him and change your ways and life) before it is too late.
No one really knows when or even if he will come back, but his name is spelled either Jezus or Jesus not jessus.

well to tell you the truth its not jesus it emmanuel and when he dos retern he will have a new name and only he will know it.

You should read Matthew 24:36, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven but my father only" This passage informs us that Jesus doesn't know, the Angels in heaven surely don't know, only God knows. Jesus doesn't give us a date. Instead, he gives us signs to look for, many which have already appeared. When we see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place, that's when we can be certain the tribulation time is upon us.

The abomination of desolation is already in the holy place. 2Thess2:3-3 The holy place was the local churches and congregations of course. God ordained the church to declare the Word of God for 1,955 years. The church age has come to an end as of 1988, and Satan is ruling there, employed by God. Now, as God promised in Daniel 12, He is revealing to us information about the time of the end. Which includes the Biblical calendar of history coming right out of the pages of Genesis 5, 7, and 11.

The whole Bible talks about the end, and every verse is taken into account when we preach that we know when the end is near.

Please take your time to read Acts 1:7-8

Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When the church age started, God told them, it is NOT for YOU to know the times of the seasons which the Father has put in his own power but ye SHALL receive power to know the times and the seasons.

this harmonizes perfectly with Eccl 8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth(KNOWS) both time and judgment.

Eccl 8:6 Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man [is] great upon him.

Eccl 8:7 For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. IFFFF therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Isa 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

There is just so much information

Also, "no man" is speaking about natural man in himself. The verse in Matthew and mark does NOT say that no one will know. Simply says no one knows. Which is true.

1Cor 2:10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

1Cor 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth NO MAN, BUT the Spirit of God.

1Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1Cor 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

Paul believed that Jesus would return during his own lifetime, as for example in 1 Thessalonians 4:17: "The dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air."Â Paul said that the Thessalonians could be ready for the return of Jesus by being vigilant (1 Thess 5:6): "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober."
The author of Mark, the first of the New Testament gospels to be written, around 70 CE and so still within the lifetimes of many alive when Paul wrote his epistles, also believed that the return of Jesus was imminent. The authors of Matthew and Luke began to realise that the return of Jesus Christ was not imminent after all, and so began to tone down the prophecies, placing it in the indefinite future. Their readers did not really need to be ready for Jesus' return.
Since the apostolic times, there have been hundreds of documented prophecies of Jesus' imminent return, and with each one there is less and less chance that the next prophecy will be any more true than the one before. Whether Jesus will ever return is a matter of faith. If he really does return, there is no good reason to believe it would be in the present century.

There are quite a few prophecies of the second coming of Jesus in the Bible. The earliest of these is in chapter 13 of Mark's Gospel, which has Jesus prophesy the end of the world and his own return on clouds of glory, during the lifetimes of those then living. Chapter 13 warns those to whom Jesus spoke, to be ready because no one knows the very date of his return. The references to the destruction that occurred in the late 60s gives an indication of when this was expected to occur. Jesus told his listeners that they would see the Temple destroyed, and the abomination of desolation, followed by the Son of man coming in clouds of glory, and that this would take place during their own generation. Of course, this did not happen, although in the maelstrom that marked the end of the First Roman-Jewish War, the end of the world must have seemed imminent.

By the 80s of the first century, when Matthew's Gospel was written, the return predicted in Mark's Gospel was becoming unlikely - the generation had already passed - and the author of Matthew had to change the emphasis away from an impending end of the world. While copying as faithfully as possible from Mark, he changed the position of the sentence about "this generation", relative to the destruction of the great buildings, so that it referred to something else altogether. He added, and emphasised, material where Jesus told the disciples that the end is not yet, and that no man knows when the end of the world will occur. Matthew 24:21 talks of great tribulation that will be followed by the end of the world and the second coming.

Luke was somewhat later than Matthew and even more clearly could not say that the destruction of Jerusalem meant the end of the world. This gospel talks about the end of the world as vaguely in the future, keeping the reference to this generation, but in reference to the need to preach the gospel.

Some see further prophecies of the second coming of Jesus in the Book of Revelation, but can not identify just when. Even more improbably, the Old Testament has been seen by some as prophesying the second coming of Christ.

In later centuries, the Church frequently prophesied the second coming of Jesus. Every disaster was seen as a sign of his coming. Every major milestone in the tradition of the Church was looked forward to as a propitious time for Jesus to return. Prophecies of the second coming of Jesus gained new impetus in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with the adventist movement, Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. Each prophesied second coming has failed to eventuate, requiring explanations of why the prophecy was wrong.

No doubt the return of Jesus will continue to be prophesied far into the future, but will never take place. The present view of mainstream Christianity is that no one knows when Jesus will return.

The Scripture states the answer quite succinctly as:

Mark 13:32 New King James Version (NKJV) No One Knows the Day or Hour 32 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

However, we are told to look for the many 'events' that must come about before the 2nd Coming occurs. Many biblical prophecies are 'dual' in nature meaning a 'type' of fulfillment occurs at the time or shortly thereafter, and the more complete and final fulfill occurs much latter in the timeline of mankind.

Luke 21:8-9 New King James Version (NKJV)

8 And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and, 'The time has drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them. 9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately."

There are far too many Scriptures noting which events must occur prior to His 2nd Coming to list here - suggest looking them up to read. As many of each subsequent generations have been deceived by 'antichrist,' the final AntiChrist will deceive the entire world in support of the other beast - political-military leader who will begin the final world-wide war:

1 John 2:18 New King James Version (NKJV)
Deceptions of the Last Hour 18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[a] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

The promise of Scripture is that just before mankind annihilates itself, Christ will be seen coming in the Clouds at the blowing of the 7th trumpet:

Matthew 24:22 New King James Version (NKJV)

22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
