Yes, and they should be vaccinated against rabies. Rabies can be contracted and passed by any mammal, including mice and rats. To protect your cat (and yourself), your cat needs to be vaccinated against rabies.
The best place to go for a rabies shot is to a vet. There are some travelling "Pet Med" groups that give rabies shots, but you need to be sure that they are run by an actual doctor before you take your cat to one. Cats don't really do well in the kind of big crowd those things have, and there are always lots of dogs, so I always take my cats to their regular doctor. I trust the vet that we know.
Rabies can be transmitted from mammal to mammal by a bite, so yes, a cat could get rabies from a bat bite.
Usually any mammal can get rabies...including humans...
Yes.
Yes
If "Rabie" is a person's name, it has no equivalent in Hebrew. If you meant "rabies", the disease, it is kalevet (כלבת)
Stay away from any wild animals.Even if a neighbor or friend has a pet dog or cat ask if they have it's rabie shot yet if no then stay away from the animal until they do. If yes then the animal is probably safe from rabies. If you get rabies then go to a doctor and they have a pill or needle for it! You are sure to be fine! What are the chances of gettin rabies ?
Rabies were treated by people like jordon C doing stuff that bashed the rabie and owned it until it got out :)
Sure, but go get it done soon.
Dr. Alfred Rabie discovered the rabie germ in 1879. On first discovering the virus he thought he had found a new way to make ordinary meals extrordinary. it wasnt until he fed the strain to his entire family and started the zombie appocalyps that he learned that the rabie germs were actually harmful. . . who knew!
It depends on the state/country you are in. In most states in the US, rabies vaccinations must be administered by a licensed veterinarian.
The Rabies vaccine is a killed virus and would be safe to give to your lactating female. It would not be passed on into the milk. Check with your Veterinarian since he or she is the only one that can give the Rabies vaccine.
Rabies is transmitted through the salvia. If a cat has rabies, he can infect you with it. If a person is bitten or scratched by a cat with rabies, they have the possibility of getting rabies. An animal with rabies can show several symptoms. It can be disoriented, dumb looking, vicious, tired, foaming at the mouth, and/or unable to swallow. The only way to check for rabies is to send the head of the animal off for brain biopsy. For humans there is no test. If you are bitten or scratched by a rabies animal, go get rabies shots immediately.
no it's dead
It is unlikely. Rabies is caught by the transfer of bodily fluids, and if an infected cat bites you, you may get rabies from his saliva. In order to catch rabies from a cat scratch, the cat must have bodily fluids on his claws, which is unlikely unless his feet are bleeding for some reason. If a cat gets into a fight with a rabid cat, and then scratches you when you try to separate them, it is possible that the rabid cat's blood can get into the scratch.
rabies
If a cat has a rabies shot after it has already become infected with rabies, the shot will be ineffective and the cat can infect people despite having been vaccinated. If the cat receives its rabies shot while it is healthy, and if the shot is effective (which it is nearly all the time), then the cat cannot catch rabies and cannot infect a human. However, a very small number of rabies shots (about one in 100,000) is not effective. Note that the rabies vaccine can lose effectiveness if it is mishandled. In almost all cases, if the original shot is ineffective, the booster shot corrects it.
