take the lower kick panel off under the steering wheel and on the right side look up by the heater box there is a bracket with 3 different relays mounted to it.
If it the the newer body style the flasher is built in to the emergency flasher switch. Replace that and it is fixed. If it is the A3 body style it will be a relay in the relay box. Any VW parts person can tell you the exact location in the relay box.
Relay center is on the driver side under the dashboard just above the gas pedal and surrounded by a metal bracket. If you turn on the turn signal blinker or the emergency blinker, you will hear it. This is the relay center location.
The blinker relay is under the dash on the drivers side, it will look like a little black square box that plugs in.

The blinker relay can be found in a 1986 Nissan Pickup in the engine compartment on the fender wall. There are several relay switches located next to the battery.
The 2002 Monte Carlo blinker flasher relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The blinker flasher relay switch will be above the brake pedal.
