under the hood
For a 1983 F150, the transmission dipstick is?æsticking out of the transmission. The transmission is located at the rear left side of the in-line engine.
on the opposite side of the oil dipstick only farther back if you have a 5.8L 351W
You would add transmission fliud thru the dipstick opening.
There is no dipstick. It's a site guage located on the left side of the bike.
Passenger side way back dipstick. You will need a transmission funnel. Use Dextron III fluid.
you use a funnel to put it down the same tube that the dipstick came out of.
Through the dipstick tube coming up behind the engine, right behind the distributor.
just take out the dip stick see how low you are with the engine running and in park, you get a narrow funnel that fits into the dipstick tube and add what you need. Automatics add at the dipstick tube, under hood, pass side rear; manual trans at the fill plug under vehicle on side of transmission.
The starter is located on the passenger side of the transmission bell housing, where the transmission mates with the engine block.
1983 first year for diesel.
Remove the inside engine cover and you will see a dip stick and you can see that it runs down to the transmission. to further clarify; if the airfilter housing is a clock and the 12 o'clock position is closest to the front center of the rv then the dipstick will be just of the 5 o'clock position. FYI this is also where you fill the trans - through the dip stick.
