On the 98 a black plastic 'box" under the hood on the right side about mid-way between the firewall and grill. Open by lifting the cover a copper connection block is there. That is the Positive connection, anywhere on the engine block is the negative side. Just make sure it is out of the way of moving parts before starting engine. Good luck.TomP
Use battery jumper cables
In the ground I would think, try a car battery and jumper cables and two rods then digbthe rods in the ground hook up jumper cables and see worms pop up when you see the worm unhook the cables be safe
Hook up to the red and black jump start posts under the hood, driver side, on the strut tower.
To hook up jumper cables, attach one cable from the negative post on one battery to the negative post on the other battery. (These usually are marked "-" and have a blacl cable attached to them.) Attach the other jumper cable from the positive post on one battery to the positive post on the other battery. (These usually are marked "+" and have a red cable attached to them.)
Positive is connected to the positive terminal on the battery and negative is connected to a ground point on the engine away form the battery. Under the Hood, on the passengers side, is a positive terminal with a red plastic cover. Put your ground on a metal part of the engine. No need to pull up the back seat to hook to the battery.
If it is a twelve volt system then you probably need to hook up two jumper cables one to each if it is really dead. if not just hook up the battery on the driver side.
My 220d is a 1969 and there is NO way to screw it up, red to + and Black to -. The battery is as big as 12 pack of soda.
If your car has a battery and it's dead, you can call a friend who has some jumper cables. You can hook the jumper cables up to his battery and your car's battery. It should create electricity that will renew your battery. If your car does not have a battery, you would have to push it or get it towed.
if it tries to start with out a keu when you hook up the jumper cables, you have a bad starter solenoid.
the same way you jump any other car... you get a set of jumper cables an hook up the red to the positive an black on the negative. just make sure you hook up the the car that is gonna be doing the jumping then the car that is gonna get jumped.
You can jack the car up and then remove the electric power steering fan. With it removed, you can access the starter where you can then hook up jumper cables to charge the battery! Such a silly design huh?
you put the red jumper on the posotive side and the black one on the negative battery side. Connect positive of one battery to the positive of the other. Then connect the negative of one to the negative of the other. Red to red, black to black.
