There are many different opinions about what gasoline to use for a car that is a V6 and not a performance V8. Here are some of them:
You gain NO additional power using premium. Octane is simply a measure of the fuels resistance to knock (also known as pre-ignition).
The higher the compression of the engine, the higher octane it needs to avoid "pinging". If your engine doesn't ping under heavy acceleration on regular (87) gas, you don't need anything with higher octane.
Plus, cars made in the last 5 years adjust the timing automatically if pinging is detected....so even when the manufacturer might recommend mid or high octane, you won't hurt the car using a lower grade...you'll just lose a little bit of power.
Not a performance vehicle who cares use any.
I have a Honda Accord and it is a V6. I always go to Chevron. Do not go to a Costco, Valero, Exxon, or anything other than a Chrevron. If you don`t go to Chevron, sometimes your car might not be able to start and you will have to rev it a little bit.
Furthermore according to the documentary the only difference in gas quality is the money an individual gas company will spent to convince you of the difference. Gas is a lot like tires if you put 300$ tires on a car or $3000 tires on a car a person who knows nothing about tires will never know the feeling/ difference the quality should have made.
91 is low premium if ur engine takes 93-high premium it should be ok.
For optimum performance, you should use high-test or premium gasoline in your Nissan Pathfinder, as per Nissan's specifications. Using a lower octane gasoline can result in premature ignition which can in the long run damage your engine.
It generally means that you should use a better quality premium gasoline. Paul
No. Premium has a little less energy than regular. (Diesel has more) You use premium gasoline because it explodes a little faster, and will prevent the engine from knocking. Your owner's manual will explain what octane level of gas you should use.
Premium gas of course for best performance
yes, since all bmws recommend using only premium gasoline. look at your fuel filler door and fuel cap, they should say to use only premium gasolin.
According to the 1999 Lincoln Navigator Owner Guide : It depends on which engine you have : The 5.4 liter ( 2 valve per engine cylinder ) takes ( " regular " unleaded gasoline , 87 octane ) The 5.4 liter ( 4 valve per engine cylinder ) takes ( " premium " unleaded gasoline , 91 octane ) * there should be a Premium Fuel Required / Recommended sticker inside the fuel filler door
The type that mount on the exterior spare tire are the best. The brandname of mine is Rhode Gear.
Depends on the year. Base timing is usually 10 degrees. You can bump up to 14 degrees but you should switch to premium fuel to avoid detonation.
Use exactly what the owner's manual states. If you do not have one, you can obtain one from your dealer or a salvage yard. This is word for word what it says in my manual: Fuel selection: Use only UNLEADED fuel, Research Octane No 91 (Octane Rating 87) or higher. For improved vehicle performance, the use of Premium unleaded gasoline with a Research Octance No of 96 (Octane Rating 91) or higher is recommended.
Something most people didn't seem to notice when they introduced unleaded gasoline was the drop in octane that occurred Premium went from between 95 and 98 octane down to 92, and regular dropped from around 91 or 90 down 87 or 88. For any high performance vehicle, premium gas should be used. For any vehicle which you wish to run well, premium gas should be used. Avoid using octane booster without expert instruction, because a supercharged engine, just like any other, may be blown up with too high of an octane fuel.
In case the shares have been issued at a premium and the amount of premium has been received then at the time of forfeiture of such share (a) share premium account should be debited (b) share premium account should be credited (c) share premium account should be neither debited nor credited (d) none of these
