Vichy France is a popular allied propaganda term for France occupied by Nazi Germany from about l940-44. The French did NOT use the term, it was coined by Churchill, it is believed who wanted a need, two-word clause- like Nazi Germany. There was no organization called the Vichy Party, unlike the Nazi Party, however, again showing the French did not take kindly to the term.

No, not really. In the immediate short term, Germany did acquire the western half of Poland. This was a beginning on Hitler's grand plan to grab territory to the east for "living room" in which Germany could expand. But in the long term invading Poland started WWII in Europe, as France and Britain declared war on Germany for invading Poland. Germany was able to defeat France, but never the British, and just under six years later Germany was in ruins, millions dead, the country divided for the next forty-five years and occupied by its enemies. And all those disastrous results flowed from the beginning, when Hitler invaded Poland.
It did not have far reaching consequences, because the other western powers were afraid to start another world war, so allowed Germany the right to annex Poland. No Western Power "allowed" Germany the right to annex Poland. Both Britain and France declared war on Germany specifically because of Germany's attack. However, neither Britain nor France were in a favorable military position to intervene or prevent the attack on Poland. The long term consequences were disastrous for Germany as she eventually lost the war and the country was cut in half. Initially, Germany gained several positive short term advantages, such as the territory and the increased access to the North Sea.
