There is not a main god in Daoism (Taoism).

The core of Daoism is, of course, Dao ( the Way), which is beyond description. It is said that Dao is the origin of the universe, the basis of all existing things, the law governing their development and change, and the ultimate force of Daoism.

The concept of Virtue (De) is closely related to Dao. Dao De Jing relates,“All respect Dao yet value Virtue.” Virtue has different connotations. One common explanation is that Virtue is the specific manifestation of Dao in specific things.

Daoism is a philosophical system described and compiled first by Lao-tzu and Chuang-tzu in manuscripts advocating a simple honest life and noninterference with the course of natural events, but characterized by a pantheism of many gods.

The roots of Taoism and the concept of Tao, are, however, lost among the animist traditions of ancient China and before. Daoism has many lines, including esoteric Daoism with practices of alchemy , divination and magic.

there are none.. the believers believe that if you follow the life style of a daoist you will counter revalations, and after X-amount revalations, you become a xian, which is a form of immortality. daoists also worship the founder of the religon much like the ways of buddists, daoist believes in a hidden spiritous world and honors "figures or godlness" but no spusific god or goddess would be able to symbolise daoism

Original Taoism had no god. It was originally a philosophy, and remained this way for a very long time. Many people still practice it this way. The gods they later developed are borrowed from various religions.

The most important god in ancient China was Ch'eng-Huang. He was the most important god because he was the god of moats and walls. Being the god of moats and walls was very important because who would haft to protect the villages from invaders. Every house in a village had ch'eng-huang in them. Ch'eng-Huang was also the protector of the villages and people.

Since china was communist people weren't aloud to worship. The people would haft to find a secret place or building, because people could not just go outside and worship. The people would ether get taken to jail, or tortured, or even killed right at that second. Just because china was communist, and didn't want people to worship or praise gods and goddesses.

People decided the gods by what there description was, or by what they did. Most of the gods were represented either by force of nature or weather. That's how they got decided what they were or who they were or what they're names were.

The people in ancient china would sacrifies blood, animals, and humans, just to honor their gods. The people thought they would be protected by the gods. They thought they would be loved and respected.
