It is an application, not a part of the operating system. Microsoft Word does not come automatically with any operating system. It has to be bought separately. It will run on Windows 7, but it is not a part of Windows 7. So it does not come with Windows 7.

Windows 7 is an operating system. Applications like Microsoft Word are not part of the operating system, so they always come separately. So having Windows 7 on a computer does not mean it will have Microsoft Word. You have would have to specifically order it if you want it on a Windows 7 machine.

Microsoft office word doesn't come with windows because it is shareware that you must buy before using. If you want a free tool similar to it use openoffice by sun micro systems
