The reason is: When you completely run out of gas your gas lines are completely drained of fuel. When you refuel the car the fuel lines are still empty, and you will need to crank the car until the fuel pump has filled the gas lines and established the correct fuel pressure. it's possible you burnt up the fuel pump running it with no gas.
Take off the air-breather cap and pour a few drops of gas into the carberator, do not splash over onto the engine. Change fuel filter,If fuel injection, turn key switch to on and let the electrical system run by itself for a minute, then keep cranking engine.
Is the fuel pump working ?? You should be able to here it.
If you can then you will just have to keep cranking it until it starts. It does not have a fuel return line on it and it is full of air. If you just keep cranking it over it will push all the air out through the injectors and soon fill up with fuel and start.
That is if it don't have a different problem.
i replaced the fuel pump and now my theft system wont work
if it is broken then take it in to the shop
Have you tried spraying gas intothe breather. Does it have tbi or multi-port? How about the fuel regulator. How much pressure does the fuel rail have ?
sometimes u need to put some gas in the intake ,anoher thing; if u run out of gas alot or run on E alot u will malfunction ur fuel pump
sounds like pluged catalitic converter or egr valve
Auto or standard?
Replace plastic bushing.
If a 2001 Chevy Impala will not start after replacing a thermostat, perhaps it is possible that a sensor was bumped unknowingly. Check all of the sensors that might have been touched during the changing of the thermostat to see that they are all still plugged in.
yeah i wonder mines 2002 Chevy cavalier and it just says "err" yeah i wonder mines 2002 Chevy cavalier and it just says "err"
Could be a linkage problem..
change the crank position sensor
your coil packs are bad. this is not cheap to fix. sorry.
compression? bad/worn/broken timing chain..
If the 2000 Cavalier has no lights an will not start, there is an electrical issue. Check the battery, alternator, and the wiring from the battery all the way to the starter to find the problem.
mine does that too
Perhaps: Fuel filter Air filter catalytic converter
You are missing fuel or spark.
