The fuel pump relay is designed to initially give enough gas to start the engine as well as provided gas for runnining the engine. Sometimes the relay does not respond when the motor turns. In rare cases the Map Sensor may be faulty. The Map sensor is designed to detect the engine es turning and gas is needed to keep the engine running. If you remove the conncector for the map sensor the engine will start; given: you have power to the ignition coil which in turn sends power to your spark plugs and the timing is set. The map sensor is located above the Power Steering pump attached to the firewall and has a hose and a conncector attached to it. kind of flat and mounted upright. F. Garay
#1 possibility: v6 Engines typicaly use a timing chain that connects the crankshaft to the camshaft. This chain keeps the rotation of the crankshaft in sync with the position of the camshaft . The camshaft opens each valve at the appropriate time for each cylinder to fire. The camshaft sproket (similar to the sproket of a bicycle) is typicaly COated in a nylon or plastic material this reduces noise and vibration during normal operation. Over time this material wears out and eventualy fails resulting in the chain skipping over one tooth ,once this happens the engine will not start and if it does will backfire and lack power. The remidy is to dismantle the timing cover located on the pully side of the engine, remove and replace the Timing chain and at minimum the camshaft sproket, You will however need to locate the timing marks located on each sproket and reposition them before installing the chain. Cost Around $100 a good weekend project #2 posibility: The ignition system has become faulty. This model has a diagnistics connector below the steering wheel check with a local parts chain store to determine the correct pins but by jumpering the correct two points with a jumper such as a paper clip the check engine lamp on the dash will flash a series of times just jot down each lamp flash as a symbol on a sheet of paper typically they are three digit codes givin in a sucession. 111 space 111 space 111 space (next code) space (next code)space (next code) space ect. bring the codes to a parts store national chain and they will tell you wich components the vehicles on board computer has determined may be faulty. This vehicle uses OBD1 system which grants the computer access to most major components. vehicles made after 1997 use OBD2 which are capable of diagnosing problems more in depth. GOOD Luck Hint If the Timing chain is bad the engine will appear to turn over abnormally fast the slow suddenly between misfires.
hello how are you?
there is actually no problem. it sputters because the engine has to start up and it may be the way you place the key inside the ignition. so don't worry because it isn't a big problem

First check for fire at any of the sparkplugs and if you have spark then check your fuel pressure and if its not within specs then replace the pump.
It turns out that the fuel injectors were clogged.
Plugs, plug wires, vacuum hoses.
i am stuck on this one i need help it ran good intill i put a cluch in it
Could be in need of a complete tune up. Does the check engine light come on?
is it getting fuel? If you cant tell for sure get a can of starting fluid and spray some down the intake tube and if it spits and sputters and kinda runs then it isn't getting fuel, If not then check your fuel pump
Put Gas In It! Right!
You did not teach it the trick very good.
That happened with my 93 buick century... And it was the fuel pump, maybe you should check that

There are several reasons that can cause your 1995 Buick Century to quit running. The most common reason is a lack of fuel. A bad fuel pump can cause the engine to quit running.
I would start with the Pickup Coil and the Crank Sensor.
Connect a freon tank and gauge to the Buick Century low side ac port. Start the car and turn the ac to high. Open the tank and allow freon to flow. Shut the tank off when the gauge reads full.
