When i turn the key the engine sputters but the car does start what is the problem?

there is actually no problem. it sputters because the engine has to start up and it may be the way you place the key inside the ignition. so don't worry because it isn't a big problem

If it won't turn at all you may have caused a problem. Check to see if you can turn the engine by hand. Does the starter click and the engine start to move? Since the starter is good but will not turn the engine over when hot, check the engine for free rotation. Turn the engine over by moving the crank by hand (with the ignition off.) The engine could be sticking when hot and not be able to turn over.
