"Your problem is a blowen headgasket. I just encountered that problem myself." That could cause it to hydrolock and appear seized, but it could also be low oil, or overheated, or failure to change the oil at proper intervals, broken timing chain, etc..

You got the car used, correct? Depending on the BMW you have, there are certain services that have to be performed at either 5000-mile or 10,000-mile intervals. The light comes on before then to tell you to do them...and 69,000 miles is close to a 70,000-mile service.
Many times, it can be from a lack of engine lubrication. Check the level of your weekly, and change the oil and filter every 3000 miles.
The freeze pugs are sold for this car in sets of 10, it would be safe to assume that there are 10 freeze plugs on a 2001 2.2L chevy engine.
Freeze plugs. More likely that hoses are leaking or thermostat housing is leaking. Freeze Plugs generally NEVER leaks unless engine block has had frozen coolant in it. Hence, Freeze Plugs.
When the engine is removed from the engine compartment, and detached from the transmission, there are freeze plugs on the back side of the engine. You may be able to just disconnect the engine from the transmission, and loosen the motor mounts and lift the engine partially away to replace the freeze plugs.
i would check the freeze plugs on both sides of the side of the engine block.
there are freeze plugs on side of engine if the leak is at the front, check to see if coolant is leaking from water pump and running down to bottom of engine
