Since you didn't specify WHEN it shakes (high speed, when using the brakes, low speed???) here are a couple possibilities:

  • wheel balance,
  • worn suspension,
  • worn steering linkage,
  • bent wheel,
  • defective tire.
  • And if it only occurs when you use the brakes, it could even be a faulty rotor even if it IS supposed to be new.

Why would the front end shake while braking on a 1996 Dodge ram 1500 truck?

Check for warped front rotors. under slight brake application it may not shake. But under hard braking such as getting off an offramp the truck will shake and the brake pedal may pulsate slightly. Chances are real good this is your problem.

Why would the steering wheel shake while braking?

You have a warped rotor. Brake pads need replacing and the rotors turned or replaced.

Why would the front end shake badly when you put on the brakes?

Most likely you have warped rotors. If the rotors are warped, when you apply the brakes, the brake pads/caliper will be forced to follow the rotor and the vibriation will transmit via the steering wheel and brake pedal.AnsweIf the rotors are warped you will feel a pulsation or a bumping in the pedal when you step on it. It may also be a loose brake caliper. If you are getting a bad shaking I would definitely check the suspension components and the steering linkage for problems.

Why would your car shudder during braking?

i would suggest getting an m.o.t I suspect the brake rotors are warped. Machining or replacement of rotors is necessary to correct that problem.

What would cause a loud whining noise in the right front end and shaking of steering wheel when you brake?

Possible its time to change those brake pads out. The whining noise is possibly the metal grinding to your rotor, which would cause your wheel to shake. Consider getting those rotors turned as well.

Why would the front rotors turn after changing the brake pads and rotors?

Possible wrong rotors???

What would cause a 2003 maxima to shake when hitting the brakes?

A common reason is that the front rotors have warped. Go check out WikiAnswers on the topic of "warped brake rotors". Rotors should wear out smoothly in normal driving. Use of the brakes that generate lots of heat (hard braking, riding the brakes) will result in warped rotors.

How do you change rotors on a 1991 accord?

remove tire calipers brake assembly then pull your rotors off i would recomend putting new brake pads if your putting new rotors you will need a special puller for the rotors cause they are pressed on

Why does your 2005 Chevy Cavalier violently shake when you apply the brakes?
