I've had the same problem on several occasions. The first time or two all it took was a light tap on the wiper motor (under hood). This was annoying but it worked until the rain stopped. The last time it happened, I removed the plastic pin holding the wiring harness connector to the wiper motor. They haven't quit yet, however, in addition to this, I also installed a couple of stong rubber bands across the harness connector and the wiper motor to apply some torsional load on the connector. When time allows, I hope to find a more permanent fix. We're not alone, I've talked to other GM owners that have had this same problem.
