Samba-Panza took office on 2014 January 23, serving until 2016 March 30. She is the first woman to hold this post.
Touadéra was previously a professor of Mathematics at the University of Bangui. He served as Prime Minister from 2008 January 22 to 2013 January 17. After his election as president, France agreed to remove soldiers who had been keeping peace during the continued religious strife and civil war. Touadéra has been challenged in restoring order during his presidency.
