Before you start tearing into the steering column, you might want to check the signal light flasher unit - usually located under the dash either in or near the fuse block.
Have a 2003 jeep grand Cherokee trying to fined the junction box took covers off steering column but can't fined box.
The multifunction switch inside the steering column is bad.
Probably a wiring issue between the turn signal and the lights.
You do have to take the steering column apart including the air bags. Due to the possiblilty of deploying the air bags and the complicated steering column, I suggest you take it to a garage.
How bout the turn signal indicator switch located in the steering column.
Make sure hazard switch is pulled all the way out May be a problem in thw steering column

If the turn signals on a car works but the hazard lights do not there may be a problem with the flasher switch. The flasher is located in the steering column, and a damaged unit can cause the lights to stop working.
It is your multifunction switch that has gone out. It is located in the steering column. I used my emergency lights and it blew out brake lights, turn signals, and emergency lights. In newer models Chevy did a recall not so for our older models. Mine is a 1995.
The turn signal wiring goes up the steering column. Turn signal bulbs are also used as brake lights and the brake light signal goes through the turn signal switch. If there is a loose connection or worn wire in the steering column, the tilt would cause problems.
inside the steering column on the left side. The turning indicator relay box is a 1.5 inch black box with 3 plugs.
Try pushing the hazard light switch on steering column repeatedly. I had a strange problem with my hazards once and this fixed it for now. I think my problem was the signals not working though....
