try accelerating slowly. if it doesnt stall, you may have to keep accelerating slowly[until someone else can diagnose tyhe problem]
Check the plugs and fuel pump to ensure they are okay. If the car dies before hitting the break, that's an electrical problem.
Have the same problem. 1999 ford escort. When at dead stop, sometimes, when peddal is pressed to go, car dies. Also , lately, chokes and dies at startup. Seems to be when its hot, .....I live in Hawaii. If you found the solution, radio it to me. Thanks, its been hard to find a similar problem
The torque converter clutch may be staying engaged, causing it to kill the engine when stopping.
The idle speed needs adjusted upward if an engine stalls when you take your foot off the accelerator while stopping or turning.
Might be a bad ignition coil
If the vehicle all the sudden just dies (stalls out) or sputters -R Diesel
try cleaning the carb. generally when it starts and dies it is a sign of a blocked passage in the carb
outboard motor will start and idle, but dies out under load
Everybody's problem is tht everybody dies.
it dies, and makes a mess on the floor.
it dies
The problem could be the absence of fuel or spark. If you floor the accelerator and the engine dies quickly, that's a fuel problem. Black smoke from the pipe when the engine stops is an indication of lack of spark or fuel.
