Bad coil?
The spark travels from the coil to the distributor then from the distributor to the plugs. So if you have spark going into the distributor but not coming out to the plugs, I would blame the distributor cap and rotor being at fault.
Check the hot wire coming from the distributor and coil to make sure it is not going to ground
It will have a black cap on it with 4 wires coming out and each wire going to a spark plug. Follow the wires from the spark plugs backward and you will find the distributor.

You start your engine, it kicks on sometimes gives a little trouble.. While driving at night if you notice your headlights flicker on and off along with your electrical lights in your dash and maybe stereo equipment. Coming to a stop, then trying to take off and applying gas it will sputter and maybe stall on you.. Usually means your distributor is going out.
