1988 Nissan 300zx The drivers inside door handle stopped working the plastic piece that holds the rod right next to the handle itself broke what do you do to fix the problem?

you need to take the white plasic piece off of the one that broke theres a large spring that will shoot you in the eye if you take the door handle one off so be careful. after that just lift the rod out and replace it, you can get them from Nissan or go to a junk yard and get them for a couple bucks they have these rods on eBay for $18 or so hope this helps
