1991 Chevy lumina you am driving down the road the car is running fine and then of all the sudden the motor starts to sputter and stall on you it will them crank again at black smoke comes out tailpip?

Look for a broken or missing rubber vacuum cap on a vacuum port on the front side of the intake. If it is broken or missing, the vacuum leak will cause certain sensors to misread and it may overfuel the engine. ANY substantial vacuum leak will do that also. The classic symptom is that it runs fine for up to 15 minutes froma cold start. If it cools down and runs good again until it warms up, that is the clue. It has to do with the point where the fuel system goes from open loop into a closed loop operation.
