the same thing happend to me but mine shut off while i was driving take the spark plugs and see if the cylinders are filled with fuel it might be hydro locked. If there is fuel that means the fuel line came off inside your engine buts easy to fix.
no if the car doesnt start check the battery and the alternator and the starter.
the battery may be bad,also the starter may be worn out and have a short that drains the battery check that your vehicle doesnt have a remote voltage regulator. and the new alternator may be bad as well
usually you can tell when your car doesnt turn or or doesnt turn over its because of your starter sometimes its not the starter it could be a low battery or corroded wires leading to the starter check that first;
the belt probly is not tight enough
Most often it is the starter and not the ignition.
You know when the starter on your nissan maxima is going bad when your car doesnt start/ even when someone gives you a boost, all your fuses are fine, and none of them are NOT blown. You know its your starter and NOT alernator when you take another battery from a car thats been driven and their battery is ok and you put it into your car and the car will not start. If its the alternator, then the car would start in that case.
If your car doesnt start, it could be the battery. But if the car starts and you unplug the negative cable and the car turns off, its the alternator.
This usually means that the alternator isn't charging.
Seized engine? Loose or cooroded battery terminal Bad starter solenoid? Bad neutral or clutch safety switch?
probably have a bad alternator or voltage regulator or bad battery cables
If the battery is good, but car still won't start could indicate problems with any of the following; starting system (starter fuse, relay, connection), ignition switch, or alternator. There are specific tests for each. When you turn the key does the starter click? Do the lights dim? Does the car hold a charge? If the car doesn't hold a charge then it's most likely the alternator, and alternators usually have a pretty good life-span (at least 80k miles).
Starter solenoid is not making contact to turn starter motor. Replace starter or solenoid(which is on the starter) !st try the battery posts. look and see if tight and clean... same thing happened to me i tightened it ,and the caddy started right up
